Frequently asked
- How do I sign in to the iPad terminal app?
- Open ArkSlate on your iPad, choose Terminal, and sign in with your ArkSlate operator email and password — the same credentials you use on the web app.
- How do I set up a Customer Display or Kitchen Display?
- In the iPad app choose Customer Display or Kitchen Display, then enter the 6-digit pairing code from your ArkSlate web admin under Settings → Devices.
- How do I set up a card reader for the first time?
- Get the reader onto your Wi-Fi, generate a pairing code on its own screen, then enter that code in ArkSlate under Settings → POS Settings → Card Readers. Do not look for it in a Stripe dashboard — the account your payments run through has no Terminal section, so ArkSlate registers the reader for you. Full walkthrough: /landing/support/card-readers.
- Which card readers are supported?
- ArkSlate uses Stripe Terminal, and card readers connect to the iPad app — the Stripe Reader S700 and BBPOS WisePOS E are the models we build against. The web register can pair a reader and show its status, but cannot yet take a card payment through it. The Bluetooth-only Stripe Reader M2 is not discoverable by the app today; pair it with an iPad customer display and collect tips there. See /landing/hardware for what we have actually tested.
- How do I take payment?
- Build a cart on the Terminal, tap Checkout, choose the order type, apply any discount, promo code, gift card, or tip, then select a payment method. Card payments require a connected Stripe Terminal reader.
